Simple and Secure with
ACORN
There is no hardware or
software needed to use the ACORN service. Authorized
reporters are given direct 24x7 access via the Internet
to a secure ACORN server housed at ITG’s data center.
They can upload their raw note files, dictionaries, or
even transcripts. Reporters may download their own notes
as well, if the Court wants to allow that. There are a
number of management reports available that provide
information on how the system is being used and who is
or who is not uploading files.
ITG provides and maintains all of the server computer
equipment. All data is written out nightly to tape and
to redundant disk servers. CDs are created as needed,
usually two or three times per year, and delivered to
the Court as an additional backup copy.
The goal is to provide a secure permanent copy of all
note files. This helps the reporters by providing one
additional level of backup for them. This helps the
Court by ensuring that note files will always be
available when needed.
